Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the formulation and refinement of new electrolyte systems designed specifically for lithium-mediated nitrogen reduction.
  • Enhance process performance, chemical stability, and environmental footprint of electrolytes.
  • Evaluate systems across various stages—from lab testing to prototype units and external pilot setups—to ensure they scale effectively.
  • Perform detailed chemical and physical analysis of components before and after operation.
  • Work in close coordination with diverse internal teams and external stakeholders to accelerate innovation cycles.
  • Tackle both scientific and operational challenges with a creative, solutions-oriented approach.
  • Manage multiple research and development tracks focused on electrolyte performance and integration.
  • Document findings clearly and present progress in a compelling and structured manner.
  • Serve as a technical point of contact in external partnerships, helping ensure delivery of key project goals.
  • Maintain alignment with best practices in safety, regulatory compliance, and sustainability.
  • Ensure accurate and organized technical documentation.
  • Promote a culture of digital fluency and continuous learning within your area of expertise.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

We’re looking for someone who brings more than just strong technical skills. The ideal candidate is:

  • Highly motivated and thrives when solving complex problems.
  • Proactive, able to anticipate needs and act without waiting for direction.
  • Naturally curious, always seeking ways to innovate and improve.
  • Collaborative by nature, recognizing the power of diverse perspectives.

  • Energized by high-impact work that contributes to a larger mission.
  • Committed to integrity, ethical conduct, and accountability.
  • Excited to work in an international and inclusive environment.

Qualifications:

  • PhD in electrochemistry or a closely related field with expertise in at least two of the following areas: lithium-based systems, ammonia synthesis, flow cells, organic electrolytes, or liquid electrolyte chemistry.
  • Candidates with an MSc and strong practical experience in similar areas will also be considered.
  • Laboratory experience is essential, including glove box operation and chemical handling.
  • Background in organic chemistry is an asset.
  • Experience handling gases such as hydrogen or ammonia in a lab setting.
  • Strong skills in interpreting and applying scientific literature.
  • Excellent English communication skills (spoken and written). Other languages, such as Danish, are a bonus but not required.
  • Confident in working with technical partners, suppliers, and research peers.
