Our client is seeking Project Engineers to join their team for an offshore cables installation campaign. This role involves overseeing the transport and installation of submarine cables, including high-voltage DC export cables, to ensure the successful internal cabling of the wind farm. Applicants are expected to be available to mobilise this season.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and manage the logistics for transporting submarine cables from manufacturing sites to the offshore installation location.
- Oversee the installation process of submarine cables, ensuring adherence to project specifications and industry standards.
- Provide technical expertise during the transport and installation phases, addressing any engineering challenges that arise.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment during transport and installation activities.
- Monitor the quality of cable transport and installation, ensuring compliance with engineering designs, safety regulations, and project specifications.
- Manage resources, including personnel, materials, and equipment, to ensure efficient and timely completion of transport and installation tasks.
- Maintain detailed records of transport and installation activities, including logistics plans, safety reports, inspection records, and change orders.
- Monitor and control project costs related to transport and installation, identifying opportunities to optimise spending while maintaining quality and safety standards.
- Regularly update clients on project progress, addressing any changes or issues, and ensuring client requirements are met.
- Respond effectively to emergencies during transport and installation, including participating in safety drills and addressing alarms.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Relevant certifications in offshore safety.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in offshore cable transport and installation project engineering.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and best practices in the offshore environment.
- Proficiency in engineering tools and software.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic knowledge of emergency response procedures.
